Jason Marcus Richard Peña

Jason Peña was an avid golfer raised in Belen, New Mexico. Jason and his brother Christian Pena played Belen’s Tierra del Sol golf course from an early age, through high school and college.  Jason also worked as a professional at Tierra del Sol under George Trujeque for many years.  Jason was a State Champion at Belen High and played golf for the UNM Lobos during his college years until he graduated with a BA.  Jason was selected as an All-American golfer multiple times and played against his brother Christian on the collegiate circuit.  Jason continued to stay true to his Belen roots and played weekends at Tierra del Sol with many of the local players.

Jason taught junior golf clinics along with his brother at Tierra del Sol for many years.  He promoted the game of golf and helped others with tournaments and much more. He was engaged in the community and was dedicated to his family. Jason died unexpectedly at the age of 49.  He is missed by the local golf community, friends, and family.
